Internet of elephants

IOE has one big vision: to see 30 million people all over the world wake up in the morning to check where their elephant is. The Brandling coaches US/Kenyan tech startup Internet of Elephants to create, manage and grow a brand presence that helps them get the support they need from conservation organisations, investors, partners and gamers. In 2018, IoE became one of FastCompany’s 100 Most Innovative Companies.

We've supported IOE all the way from their first steps in building a professional presence for their partner and investment search, to the management of new consumer facing brands and communications for their upcoming products.

In 2015 we worked with AMREF, Safaricom, the MPESA Foundation, Accenture, Mezzanine and the Kenya Ministry of Health to create the brand for an m-health platform designed in, and for, Africa. We worked with the AMREF team to develop their brand narrative and set the foundation for their visual and verbal identity. The result is Leap, which offers governments, NGOs and (social) enterprises the means to train health care volunteers and professionals on a myriad of health topics at the push of a button, wherever they are and whenever it is needed.

designathon works

Designathon Works is a unique design thinking method that unleashes the creativity of children to design a better world using new technologies. DW develops educational methods and events that encourage children to use their natural creative problem solving abilities, and to explore innovative use of technologies.

M-TIBA is a service on your mobile phone that allows all Kenyans to send, save and spend funds specifically for medical treatment. This innovative combination of finance and healthcare addresses socio-economic problems both for those who need to cover their own healthcare costs and for clinics delivering services to patients with few financial resources.

The M-TIBA team faced complex brand architecture and messaging challenges due to their myriad partnerships, making B2C and B2B communication too complex. The Brandling worked with the M-TIBA team to assess and restructure M-TIBA's brand architecture, and to test and clarify brand messaging. We created a comprehensive and easy to use brand manual with guidelines, templates and files. The result is a financially manageable, strategically clear and visually organised brand.

Access to personal, independent and solid family planning advice is limited or non-existent for many young women in low income countries. Population Council and a team of seasoned experts and entrepreneurs came together to create a free mobile phone system that allows women to anonymously access personalised advice.

The Brandling worked with Population Council to create a consumer facing brand called Nivi, a smart sister who knows what methods are available, is easy to talk to and has your best interest at heart. Nivi is a brand that is easy to talk to and gives you a voice in the health care system.
